Giovanni Aiello

History

Giovanni Aiello was born and raised in Puglia, growing up immersed in vineyards, karstic landscapes, and the nearby sea. His approach to wine is deeply personal, shaped early on by his father’s belief that a good glass of wine has the power to bring happiness.

Driven by this philosophy, he pursued formal winemaking studies in Veneto and Friuli, before gaining international experience in California and Australia. In the early 2000s, Giovanni returned to his native region and established his own winery in the Valle d’Itria, with the aim of expressing the identity and energy of Puglia through wine.

The Vineyards

The estate comprises approximately 8 hectares of vineyards located in the Valle d’Itria. The vineyards are dedicated to native grape varieties that reflect the character of the region, including Verdeca, Primitivo, Maruggio, and Marchione.

Giovanni Aiello’s work in the vineyard is guided by a close relationship with the land and a focus on authenticity, allowing the natural qualities of Puglia to shape each wine. Careful attention is paid to every stage of cultivation, supporting balanced fruit and clear varietal expression.

The Cellar

In the cellar, Giovanni Aiello brings together technical precision and creative vision. His wines are produced in limited quantities, with an emphasis on craftsmanship rather than scale, resulting in an annual production of approximately 50,000 bottles.

Central to his work is the Chakra line, through which he seeks to express the soul and energy of Puglia. Each bottle reflects a thoughtful interpretation of place, shaped by experience, intuition, and a strong sense of regional identity.
