Rezzadore
History
Nestled in the lush greenery of the Colli Berici near Rocca Pisana stands the eighteenth-century Villa Rezzadore, home to the Rezzadore family, winemakers for generations. The villa commands sweeping views over the Po Valley and sits at the heart of a twenty-hectare estate that has been cultivated with the same respect for land and tradition across centuries.
The family’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in absolute respect for the territory, interpreting the unique character of each vintage with passion and dedication.
The Vineyards
The Colli Berici were formed millions of years ago on the bed of an ancient sea, leaving limestone rocks rich in fossilized organisms alongside volcanic formations similar to those of the Euganean Hills. The vineyards benefit from these unique soil properties, generous sunlight, and carefully managed spur-pruned cordon training with dense planting and low yields.
This combination produces wines with marked flavour and salinity. In addition to vines, the estate includes a 7,000 m² olive grove, yielding extra virgin olive oil that reflects the same connection to place.
The Cellar
The winery occupies the estate’s restored historic stables, now equipped with modern vinification technology designed to preserve the natural character of the grapes. A pneumatic press ensures gentle extraction, while temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks maintain the purity and aromatic integrity of each variety.
Traditional methods are combined with careful innovation to honour the specific characteristics of every grape, resulting in wines that faithfully express the terroir of the Colli Berici with integrity and authenticity.
