Ali Rosso IGT Toscana 2022

Vinification: The wine is made from equal parts of two Sangiovese clones: F9, which contributes vibrant fruit character, and CH-20, which provides structure. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and varietal expression.

Ageing: It ages for 10 months in stainless steel. Additionally, 5% of the Cabernet Sauvignon used in the blend matures for 10 months in third-passage French oak barriques, adding subtle complexity and texture before final blending and bottling.

Tasting notes: The name Ali means “wings” in Italian, and it is also the name of the winery owner Lia Tolaini-Banville’s “little angel”: her daughter. The artwork from the label is a detail of Cupid from the original artwork by Rik Olsen. Deep ruby red with aromas of juicy red berry fruit. Medium-bodied and soft on the palate, with balanced acidity and ripe tannins. Delicious with pastas and grilled meats, yet also very drinkable without food.
